We are thrilled to share a story submitted to us by Linda Wash from St. George’s Caring Home in Witham, Essex, on behalf of her resident, Silvia.
“When I arrived at St. George’s Nursing Home one of our scheduled activities was writing. I’d never been any good at writing, but I started to write poetry. Now I have successfully written four poetry books and I’m working on my fifth! My thoughts turned to writing an autobiography which I started when I was 63 years old. With the help of a carer, Karen, and her sister, Ann, this was accomplished. A local firm called Kempco printed it for me. A book was born!”
Thank you for sharing this with us, Linda. This lovely tale proves that you’re never too old to learn a new skill, or discover a new hobby. Congratulations on your achievements, Silvia!
