We are so proud to announce that our founder, Chris Harding, has won a Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s NAPA Awards.
The event recognises the exceptional contributions made to activities and acknowledges the dedication and hard work of all our colleagues across the sector.
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognises how Chris has demonstrated a commitment and passion for activity, engagement and wellbeing throughout his career, something that is clearly shown in the simple existence of The Daily Sparkle – a company dedicated to improving activities and supporting activity coordinators.
In giving the award to Chris, presenter Simone Carter said: “The judges chose this winner because he has contributed a lifetime’s worth of energy and enthusiasm to the world of activity provision, developing accessible resources that enable care and activities teams to be inspired, every single day.”
The award also recognises individuals who have worked relentlessly to ensure that activity is placed at the heart of care. An individual whose passion and commitment has inspired others to strive for the best outcomes for people with care and support needs.
Accepting the award Chris said: “Throughout everything I’ve done in the sector, it’s always been about trying to look after the activity coordinators and help them to provide great activities for the residents and for people living with dementia.”
Chris Harding set up The Daily Sparkle over a decade ago, inspired to bring about change to the care sector when a dear friend entered a care home and his mental health and wellbeing very quickly declined. Seeing this first-hand, Chris determined that no one living with dementia or in the care sector should spend their days uninspired, bored, isolated and depressed.
Through daily newspapers, monthly magazines, activities resources, an app and training courses, The Daily Sparkle has been dedicated to improving the lives of others. We are very proud of all the company, and Chris, has achieved.
